Underwriting Officer
Employment terms: Permanent
Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for the Loss Ratio of the LOBs they underwrite.
Consequently., any remedial action to be implemented to improve the Combined
Ratios of specific LOBs will have to be strictly adhered to.
The position holder will report to the Head of Operations or any other person
designated by the management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learning and
understanding company insurance products and underwriting processes.
- To liaise with
insurance Agents and brokers.
- Quote and convert new
business opportunities.
- To prepare insurance
policy terms and conditions.
- Attain monthly
renewal/retention rate.
- To prepare cover notes/
bank letters.
- Follow up on quotes to
ensure the highest conversion ratio.
- 0% Deviation from the
Local Underwriting Authority Limits
- Maintain set KPI to
ensure continuity within a business relationship.
- Providing customers
with detailed information about policies and products.
- Promote Team
collaboration and proactively contribute towards Team efforts.
- Observe all
underwriting Guidelines (ASU/FRs and the likes) of Allianz.
- New Extension - USP for
Hybrid and Electric Cars
- Support your team to
achieve their goals through sharing knowledge and developing expertise.
- Any other cognate
duties that might be assigned to you in your course of employment.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- ACII or any relevant
studies to underwriting is a prerequisite
- A Good HSC
- Any relevant studies in
the insurance sector will be considered

EXPERIENCES:
- A minimum of 02 to 03
years of experience in a relevant position.
